Script: Written in a Gothic rotunda in black ink with red rubrics.
Layout: 1 column, 3 staves extant. Bounding and writing lines in light plummet. Square Gregorian notation on a four-line red staff.
Decoration: Verso: two-staff high historiated floriate initial [V], the Virgin and Child, with thin geometric and floriate extensions into lower margin and some leafy extensions at corners of the initial.
Binding: Housed in an oversize folder.
Origin: Written in Italy, possibly Florence, in the second half of the 13th century.
Immediate source of acquisition: Acquired in 1957 from Lapiccirella, Libreria Antiquaria, Florence.
