Script: Written in a Gothic rotunda in black ink with red rubrics.
Layout: 1 column, 6 staves. Bounding and writing lines in light plummet, outer bounding line doubled. Square Gregorian notation on a four-line red staff.
Decoration: Recto: 2-staff high historiated initial F in gold and colors with thin acanthus and tendrils into margins, Archangel Michael defeating the dragon.
Binding: Housed in an oversize folder.
Origin: Written in Italy, possibly Bologna, in the mid-fourteenth century, from the same manuscript as BPL MS pb Med.171, Med.181 and Med.189.
Catchword in lower center margin of verso. 16th-century foliation upper outer corner of the recto, "70;" 17th-century arabic pagination, outer center margin of each side, "139" and "140."
Immediate source of acquisition: Acquired in 1957 from Olschki, Florence.
