Script: Written in an early Gothic rotunda in black ink with red rubrics.
Layout: 1 column, 7 staves. Bounding and writing lines in light plummet, bounding lines full-length. Square Gregorian notation on a four-line red staff.
Decoration: Recto: 2-staff high historiated floriate initial in gold and colors: the Virgin Mary among a group of unnimbed men, gazing upwards at the feet of Jesus ascendent.
Binding: Housed in an oversize manilla folder.
Origin: Written in Bologna ca. 1275. DeLeeuw notes attribution of the initial on another leaf from this manuscript (MS pb Med.170) to the circle of the Master of the Bible of Gerona.
Immediate source of acquisition: Acquired in 1957 from Maggs.
