Binding: Mounted to a stub and bound in tan buckram from the Schøyen Collection. Origin: Written in southern Italy. Provenance: Used in the 16th century as a wrapper for a long-stitched volume, with the date "1563" on spine. Offered by Bernard Quaritch (catalog 1128, "Bookhands of the Middle Ages: Beneventan Script," 1990, no. 25) and purchased by Dr. Martin Schøyen (Schøyen MS 70); offered at auction by Bloomsbury ("The History of Western Script: A Selection from The Schøyen Collection, in Celebration of...
