- Four lines of music per page; music arranged on red four-line staves, with square notation in dark brown; Latin words in a rounded gothic bookhand; captions and numbers in red; large initials in red with violet calligraphic penwork, or in black with yellow penwork, sometimes incorporating grotesques; simple red initials on last [7] p., which appear to have been added later in a different hand...
Modern black calf, neatly merged with portions of the original blind-stamped covers, with multiple rolled borders, and small blind-stamped leaf motifs in center panel.
Front flyleaf is a vellum leaf from an earlier German music manuscript, with music arranged on 4-line staves, and square notation and Latin words in brown.
