Layout: Written in five or more long lines.
Script: Written in southern textura rotunda in at lest three hands; later additions thoughout.
Decoration: fol. 1r: illustrated initial of Madonna with Child and boarder in gold with 12 medallions; fol. 54r: illustrated initial of Saint Francis receiving the Stigmata; fol. 62r illustrated initial, God the Father on a throne with heavenly host; floriated initials in gold and pen flourished initials throughout.
Music: Red 4-line staves with black square notation; 5 staves per page with some having 7 staves at end. Occasional revisions to music and text included scraping and re-notating, whiting out of notes, pasted on paper and parchment.
Origin: Written in northern Italy in approximately 1450.
Former owner: Henry Probasco.
