Title from caption heading of the predominant work. Decoration: Engraved print portrait of Jean Passerat, probably dating from 1598, pasted into this codex (f. i verso). Script: Written in a semi-Gothic cursive (works 1-3) and humanistic cursive (work 4) script, possibly by Jean Passerat. Layout: Work 2 has 45-65 lines per page, work 3 has 45-55 lines per page, work 4 has 23-27 lines per page, all with bounding lines in lead. Foliation: Paper, i + 182 + i; modern foliation in pencil, lower right recto. Each work except the second has separate contemporary pagination: work 1, p.1-41 is f.1-21, p.42-74 is f.25-41, p.74-79 is f.41v-44, p.80-118 is f.49-68, p.119-157 is f.71-90; work 3, p.1-20 is f.106-115v; work 4, p.1-130 is f.118-182v. Origin: Written in Paris, France between 1572 and 1599 (Zacour-Hirsch). Sold by Paul Jammes (Paris), 1962. Possibly sold in the collection of L.-J.-N. Monmerqué by L. Potier (Paris), 12 May 1851, lot 2818 (Schoenberg Database of Manuscripts).
