This image shows the reverse of a leaf from a dogale issued by Doge Nicolò da Ponte (1578-1585). The text marks the beginning of the dogale and confers upon Francesco Cignona, an Italian nobleman, the governance of the Adriatic island of Arbe (now Rab, Croatia).
