On the large miniature of the Virgin in Glory following the Calendar: the artist is Giovanni Pietro Birago, active in Brecia, Milan, and Venice; there may be some repainting in the illumination; the shield contains the Este arms, but this may be a later addition
Binding: 19th-century red velvet, with gilt and gauffered edges
Layout: Part I: ff. 56; 246 x 168 mm (text: 197 x 130 mm); 1 column of 31 lines, hard point ruling; three additional manuscript leaves inserted into the binding before fol. 1, between fols, 1 and 2 and after fol. 60
Script: Gothic--rotunda
Decoration: 1 full-page miniature with full border, 11 historiated initials, illuminated initials throughout, red and blue initials throughout
