Title from opening line of text; date from colophon; place of production conjectured based on contents.
Collation: Parchment, fol. i (modern paper) + 80 + fol. i (modern paper) ; i10 ii-vi12 vii10 ; modern pencil foliation in upper-right margins.
Layout: Ruled in lead point, with vertical and horizontal bounding lines, 24 to 33 lines per page.
Script: Written in black ink in a gothic semitextualis; headings in red ink in a gothic textualis.
Decoration: Three-line initials on first several pages rubricated in red; initials otherwise with guide letters, but unrubricated.
Binding: Bound in modern rigid vellum.
Origin: Copied in Italy and completed in October 1442 (see contents note for colophon).
Provenance: Front flyleaf with sticker "133". Offered at Sotheby's (London, 9 July 1973, lot 36) to Sion Segre Amar, with his label on rear pastedown: "SSA -- Nasce a guisa di rampollo a pie del vero il dubbio 111". Offered again at Sotheby's (London, 1 December 1998, lot 87) to a private collector. Offered again at Sotheby's (London, 3 July 2018, lot 20).
