Collation: Parchment, fol. ii (modern paper) + 23 + ii (modern paper) ; 1-38(-8, probably blank). Vertical catchwords in lower right margin of final versos in gatherings 1 and 2.
Layout: Single column, 26 lines per column. Bounding and writing lines ruled in blind.
Script: Written in brown ink in a humanistic bookhand.
Decoration: Eight-line initial on fol. 1r in shell gold on a dark blue ground, ornamented with pearls, white and orange flowers, and green and gold foliage, with an arabesque border in orange, green, blue and gold extending into the inner margin. Four- and two-line initials in red or blue.
Binding: Heavy paper wrappers with vellum spine and corners (modern construction?). Bound with a contemporary printed edition of the same text. Printed text cataloged separately under call number MS q Med.263 no. 2.
Origin: Written in Milan, not before 1520.
Provenance: Confraternity of Santa Maria Rotunda, Milan; unidentified early/contemporary marginal annotations, with early corrections throughout; used as printer's copy ca. 1520 (with casting-off marks); library of the Trivulzio family, Milan; no. 1160 in an unidentified collection (inscription on second front flyleaf verso.
