Ms. codex. Title of the manuscript from title of the first work (f. 1r) and the title of the second work (f. 37v). Foliation: Modern western foliation added in pencil, upper left recto; catchwords every verso, lower left. Layout: 21-23 long lines; frame ruled. Script: Written in naskh in black. Decoration: Rubrications; many leaves of tables included (f. 15r, 17r, 18r, 18v, 21r, 23r, 29r, 30v, 43v-66r inclusive). Binding: Bound in red leather over paperboard with flap (Type II); covers blind stamped with central mandorla with paper onlay and frame; flap also blind stamped with paper onlay. Binding is in poor condition: flap has separated and front cover is held on only by two hinges. Origin: Written after 1426. Accessioned by the Libraries, 1891. Likely acquired by Talcott Williams in Morocco; from The Daily Pennsylvanian, 5:18, 20 November 1889: "The University has recently received eighteen Arabic manuscripts, embracing judicial, historical and poetic works. These were procured by Mr. Talcott Williams, in his recent trip to Morocco".
