Foliation: Modern foliation added in pencil, upper left recto; catchwords every verso, lower left.
Layout: 25 long lines; frame-ruled.
Script: Written in maghribi in dark brown ink; pointed, unvocalized.
Decoration: Rubrications in red and brown (the brown may once have been red). The first opening of volume 2 has double border rules in red and a red and black medallion in the margin; the heading is also set off by red rules (f. 1v-2r).
Binding: Both volumes bound in the same way. Red leather over pasteboard with flap (Type II) with a large, blind stamped central mandorla and a blind tooled frame with knotwork pattern. Flap has coordinating frame and stamp. Doublure of covers and flap is plain, laid paper cut in a scalloped shape along one edge. Blue and white endbands. Title written on the bottom edge of each volume.
Origin: The colophon of volume 2 gives the date of completion as A.H. 1085 (1674) (f. 220v).
Formerly owned by Muḥammad al-Hāshimī ibn Muḥammad ibn ʻAbd Allāh ibn ʻAbd al-Mālik al-Ḥasanī (inscription and stamp on f. 1r of both volumes).
