Ms. codex. Title from title page (fol. 2a). Physical description: 23 lines per page. Written in medium small naskh in black ink with use of red for entries and re-inking. European paper with watermark. Fol. 1 and 172 are later additions on thicker European paper. The text has been collated (mention "buligha muqābalatan" on the margins). Important subject matters mentioned on the margins. Inscriptions on fol. 1b and 172a. Fol. 82-83 in... Collation: Paper, fol. 172 ; 110 (+1 at beginning of quire) 2-1610 (the last catchword seems to indicate that a leaf is missing) 1710 (+1 at end of quire) ; catchword on the verso of each leaf ; the quires are numbered using Arabic numerals in the form "K 1" or "4" (see fol. 1a and 32a) -- the misplaced fol. 82 (now 153bis) shows that the first form of numbering is later. Origin: According to colophon, copy completed on Wednesday 4 Dhū al-Qaʻdah 1080 [March 26, 1670] by ʻAbd al-Laṭīf ibn Muḥammad, khaṭīb and imām of ʻImārat al-Quṭayfah (fol. 167a). Impressions of a stamp in the name of the copyist, ʻAbd al-Laṭīf ibn Muḥammad, on fol. 2a, 167a-b and 171a. Several ownership statements and impressions of stamps on fol. 1b-2a and 171a-b, one in the name of Murād, mawlá in Damascus. Acquired from Abraham Shalom Yahuda, 1942.
