European paper with watermark, glossy. Fol. 1 and 57 are fly-leaves of another type of european paper with watermark. Several inscriptions on fol. 1a, including the mention of a price. The text has been collated 9see collation statement on fol. 56a). Collation: Paper, fol. 57 ; i (fly-leaf with inscriptions; fol. 1 in the modern foliation) 1-510 64 (+ 1 at beginning of quire, fol. 52) i (fly-leaf; fol. 57 in modern foliation) ; catchword on the verso of each leaf. Two spine labels (vertical), reading respectively: "Kitāb Ādāb al-ʻālim wa-al-mutaʻallim li-Muḥyī al-Kinānī al-Shāfiʻī", and "19" in Arabic and Western numerals. Origin: Copy completed on the night after Friday 24 Dhū al-Qaʻdah 1020 [Jan. 28, 1612] by Muḥammad Abī al-Fatḥ (?, according to Hitti) ibn Fitān (?, Hitti reads: "Riftān"), imām of al-ṢNá(?) al-sharīfah (colophon, fol. 56a). Unsigned ownership statement and seal reading "Min kutub al-faqīr ʻAlī" on fol. 1a. Ownership statement in the name of Kamāl al-Dīn al-Ṣalar, with seal, and partly erased large circular seal on fol. 2a.
