Layout: Written in 34 long lines by two scribes, ruled in plummet with single boundary lines, the first two horizontal lines above and the last two below extending into margin.
Script: Written in Anglo-Norman caroline textualis formata.
Decoration: Decorated initials in red and green 6-8 lines high.
Origin: Written in England in the third quarter of the 12th century at Saint Mary's Reading.
Former owner's inscription: Hic est liber sancte Marie Radings quem qui celauerit vel fraudem de eo fecerit, anathema sit.
Former owner's signature: T. Fownes.
