Collation: Parchment, fol. 76; 18(-1) 2-58 7-98 108(-6, 8).
Layout: Written in 32 long lines by two scribes, ruled in hard point save for lower portion of fol. 73v which was ruled in pen in 14th century; some prickings visible in inner margins in quire 6 and 8; single boundary lines with various horizontal lines above and below extending into margins.
Script: Written in Anglo-Norman caroline textualis formata.
Decoration: Red and green initials, some decorated with green foliage.
Origin: Written in England in the middle of the 12th century, probably at Saint Mary's Reading.
Former owner's inscription: Hic est liber sancte Marie Radings quem qui celauerit vel fraudem de eo fecerit, anathema sit.
Former owner's signature: T. Fownes.
