Manuscript Codex. Title from printed catalog. Collation: Parchment, 1-98. Layout: Quires 1-7 written in 28 long lines; quire 9 written in 21 long lines; ruled in dry point. Script: Quires 1-7 written in caroline textualis media, quire 9 written in caroline textualis media tending to currens by a second hand; headings in rustic capitals with occasional uncial and minuscule forms. Decoration: Quires 1-8, hollow initials filled with green, orange, and yellow, some decorated with scrolls, human heads, fanciful birds or beasts, 3-5 lines high. Quire 9, two hollow initials on fol. 66v and 72v with interlaced leaf design, 4 lines high. Origin: Written in France, probably southern France in the first two-thirds of the eleventh century. "Südfrankreich, X. Jh., 2. Hälfte und ca. X./XI. Jh. (60rff)."-- Bischoff, B. Katalog der festländischen Handschriften des neunten Jahrhunderts, page 196. Fol. 1r, "liber de origine mortis humane" written in a contemporary hand, rubbed out and written again by an 18th century hand which also wrote a summary table of contents on the first front flyleaf. A more detailed table of contents by another modern hand on the second front flyleaf.
