Layout: Written in 20 long lines, fol. 1r-24r, 26r-30v, 44v-48r; in 27-29 long lines fol. 31r-44r; ruled in pencil; prickings in outer margins.
Script: Written in gothic semiquadrata media, fol. 1r-24r, 26r-30v, 44v-48r; in gothic textualis rotunda media, fol. 31r-44r; headings in script of text.
Decoration: fol. 31r: gold illuminated initials with red and blue flourishes; alternating red and blue flourished and simple initials throughout; directions for rubricator in right margins.
Origin: Written in Germany in the 14th century for a Benedictine abbey in or near Regensburg. Note presence of Emmeran and Wolfgang, both of Regensburg, and Benedictine saints in Masses on fol. 1-22.
Former owner: Joannes Hainricus Ebron zu Wildenberg (died June 1606) in note dated February 4, 1609 signed by his successor Christophorus de Stinglhaim, councillor of Ratisbonne, who gave this book to the chapel of Saint George in the castle of Wildenberg. The arms of both men with mantles and horned helmets are painted on the front pastedown.
Written in a 16th century hand "R" in upper right corner of rear pastedown. - Keyword:
