Layout: Written in long lines; ruled in lead point; guide letters occasionally visible.
Script: Written in textura in 3 hands. Hand A, fol. 1-169; hand B, fol. 170-193; hand C, fol. 194-197.
Decoration: Six large illuminated initials with marginal trompe l'oeil borders, fol. 1r blue "D" on brown background historiated with Mary standing in a garden holding an open book, border in gold with pink, blue, and red flowers, a bird and a bee; fol. 31v gold "Q" on brown background, filled with a plant with blue and white flowers, border in green, gold, and brown with flowers and...
Music: Red 4-line staves with black square notation; 10 staves per page; B-flats and E-flats occasionally indicated (in a later hand?); several staves throughout include small G clefs, often in combination a C clef.
Origin: Written in Flanders, approximately 1500; probably Cistercian due to the prominence given to the feast of St. Bernard.
Inscription, fol. 162v: Bonesse.
