Collation: Parchment, fol. 139 (contemporary foliation in red, ij-cxl, rear pastedown foliated cxli); 18 2-48 510 6-178 183; pastedowns formed from first leaf of quire 1 and last leaf of quire 18; prickings occasionally visible in outer margin.
Layout: Written in 5 long lines, ruled in hard-point; fol. 33v-34r, 62v, 87r, 99v-100r, 104r-104v, 132v written in 15 long lines; fol. 62r, 135r written in 16 long lines; fol. 92r written in 17 long lines, frame ruled in black ink.
Script: Written in southern textura.
Decoration: Medium red initials, black strapwork initials (one with inscription: Ant. Cant. 1[scraped]48 ano. (fol. 38v)), small red initials.
Music: Red 5-line staves with black square and measured notation; 5 staves per page; hymns chiefly set in measured notation; flats, sharps, and mensuration signs contemporary; some sharps added in later hand in brown ink. Hymns "Salutis humanae sator" and "Verbum supernum prodiens," and Alleluia "Spritius Domine replevit" have sections of music scraped and renotated.
Origin: Written in Spain, 16th century.
Former owner's inscription (fol. 24v): Antonio Lane[?] 1879.
