Collation: Parchment, fol. 197 (contemporary foliation in red i-xxxiii, xxxv-lxxxiii, lxxxi-lxxxiii, lxxxxv-clxxxx (numbers i, xli, and l in a second hand); foliated in brown ink 1-83, 85-196 (includes rear pastedown); foliated with stamp 1-195); 1-310 410(-4) 5-710 85(+5) 9-1910 203(+3); lacking 6 leaves between quires 8 and 9, 1 leaf in later hand inserted; prickings visible in outer margin. Layout: Written in 36 long lines; ruled in red. Script: Written in textura rotunda. Decoration: Three large historiated initials in blue, green, and pink ink and gold leaf, each with a large foliate border, fol. 40r historiated "R, "Christ emerging from the tomb with a dragon and fish forming the bow of the R, sleeping soldiers at the base of the tomb, cityscape in the background; fol. 73v historiated "V," apostles viewing the ascension; fol 102r historiated "C," monstrance... Music: Red 4-line staves with black square notation, six staves per page. Throughout later revisions have been made to gradual, Alleluia, and tract versicles, and Alleluia melismas; revisions include abbreviating melismas by scraping away notes and including red notes to indicate abbreviations; sequences "Victime paschali laudes," "Veni Sanctus Spiritus," and "Lauda sion" have been scraped and... Origin: Probably written in Italy, 16th century.
