Collation: Parchment, fol. ii + 102; 112 2-68 74 8-118 1210 134; catchwords present, fol. 72v, visible behind an illuminated roundel; leaf signatures partially trimmed. Layout: Written in 17 long lines; ruled horizontally in pen. Script: Written in Italian gothic textualis rotunda. 1. Decoration: Five historiated magenta, green, and blue initials 5-6 lines high on gold grounds accompanied by full gold filigree borders decorated with green and blue flowers: fol. 13r (the Virgin and Child, a hare within a roundel in right margin), fol. 57v (David in penance, a heron-like water bird within a roundel in lower margin), fol. 72v (a human skull, a white rabbit with a white bird... 2. Decoration: Magenta, blue, and green initials on gold grounds at the beginning of texts accompanied by outer bracket margins; gold dentelle initials with white patterning on grounds of magenta, blue, and green 3 lines high in the calendar accompanied by similar but simpler inner margins; the beginnings of major sections of texts marked by gold, magenta, blue, and green dentelle initials... Origin: Written in northern or central Italy, possibly in Bologna, in 1474 by the scribe P.S., signed with date on fol. 100v: Salve sancta parens ... hec tue optulimus maiestati. P.S. 1474.
