Written in medium large naskh (professional hand, leaning towards the left), in black ink with use of green and red. Yāʾ fo alif maqṣūrah. European paper with watermark (star on crown), glossy ; frame-ruled. Collation notes on the margins. Collation: Paper, fol. 107 ; 110 (-1, before fol. 1) 2-1010 118 ; catchword on the verso of each leaf. Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the upper cover: "Ḥadīth thānī 119". Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on pastedown of the upper cover: "Ḥ 647". Origin: According to colophon, completed on Tuesday 24 Jumādá al-Ākhirah 1101 [April 4, 1690] by Ibrāhīm Ibn al-marḥūm Muḥammad ʻAlī al-Mudarris. The text was collated on Sunday 15 Rabīʻ al-Awwal 1102 [Dec. 17, 1690] with the collator's father, Muḥammad ʻAlī, and a second time on a copy found in Mecca on 7 Dhū al-Ḥijjah 1107 [July 8, 1696] (fol. 104a). Several ownership statements on fol. 1a, with stamps, some covered by a repair, in the name of ʻAbd al-Karīm ibn al-marḥūm al-shaykh Yūs[uf?] Ibn ʻAbd al-Karīm al-Anṣārī (al-Madanī, from seal), with large octogonal stamp dated 1134 H. [1721 or 22] ; of Yūsuf ibn ʻAbd al-Karīm al-Anṣārī ; and of Nūqādī Zādah, with seal reading: "al-Sayyid Aḥmad Nūrī, 1274 [1857 or 8]" (on a repair). Two...
