- Note:
- Collation: 23 quires of 12 folios except the first (11 folios), 22nd (10 folios), and 23rd (11 folios). Folios 9v-11v are blank. Foliated in pencil on the upper right recto.
Script: Written in brown ink, apparently in a single hand, in a late Gothic style which seems to have gradually evolved into a cursive or humanistic script.
Layout: Written in 30-31 long lines; four margins ruled with a double line.
Decoration: Includes marginal notes, versals in blue and vermillion with tracework in the contrasting color, and minor illumination in polychrome and gold.
Binding: Rebound in vellum over boards
The present fol. 12 is apparently a replacement for an original folio removed from the manuscript. It contains the prologue and part of the table of contents for book 1 written in the scribe's developed humanistic hand. Since fol. 12r is inscribed with a coat of arms ("allegedly" those of Cardinal Fieschi according to De Ricci), the recopying was probably done to change the original arms...
