The text is written on ivory paper inlaid in slightly darker European paper for the borders, the pasted area is covered by a frame in gold and black. Illuminated headpiece in gold and colors, with title and basmallah on fol. 5b. Table of contents in red and black in a gold and black grid on... Collation: Paper, fol. i, 124, ii ; i (free endpaper) 14 (European paper) 2-1310 i (later added fly-leaf) i (free endpaper). Two spine labels (vertical), reading respectively "Kitāb Multaqá al-abḥur" in Arabic script, and "30" in Arabic and Western numerals. Origin: Copy completed during the night of Thursday 25 Rajab 1106 [March 11, 1695] by Muḥammad ibn ʻAbd al-Ṣamad, former muftī in Balık Sarayı (colophon, fol. 124b). Acquired by Robert Garrett from Brill, 1925, from the books of Murād Bey al-Bārūdī (Beirut).
