Collation: Parchment, i (contemporary paper) + 42 + i (contemporary paper); [i], 1¹⁰, 2¹², 3¹², 4⁸, [i]; 1-32, [33-42]; contemporary foliation in ink, upper right recto; modern foliation in pencil, upper right recto. The front and back endleaves are formed by a paper bifolium wrapped around the manuscript before it was bound.
Layout: Written in 26-28 long lines; frame-ruled in ink (text block in horizontal lines, f. 1-9; in a grid, f. 10-42).
Origin: Written in northern Italy, from 27 January 1540 (f. 1r) to 5 October 1565 (f. 38r), with some additions and emendations that appear to be slightly later in date.
Binding: Contemporary vellum, with inscriptions including the name Pauli Bragadino, the word Divisio, and possibly the date 1565; top stitching loose; cover torn and pulling away from the stitching at the top part of the spine.
Script: Written in italic and cursive scripts by multiple hands.
Formerly owned by Morris Jastrow; gift from his estate (bookplate, inside upper cover), 1921 (label, inside lower cover). - Keyword:
