Ms. codex. Spine title. Translated from Arabic by Maḥmūd ibn Mīrzā ʻAlī (fol. 1b). Physical description: 21 lines per page; written in calligraphic naskh in black on cream glazed, laid Arabic paper. Rubrication and catchwords; extensive marginal notes. Arabic prayers vocalized. Extensive water damage that has caused loss of paper around the margins, but text unaffected. Paper repairs to fol. 1-8, 356-360. Occasional smudging. Decoration: Text on fol. 1b-1a set within cloud bands on gold ground; entire text framed in blue, red and gold. Origin: Text completed on 1 Ramaḍān 1056 H [11 October 1646] (Āghā Buzurg gives the date of completion as 1055 H); this copy completed on 8 Shaʻbān 1083 H [29 November 1672] by Ibn Ḥājjī Shafīʻ Bāqir al-Khvānsārī in Dār al-Salṭanah Iṣfahān at the Madrasat Āqā-yi Āqā Ḥusayn (fol. 360a). On fol. 1a: two seals in blue ink, and notes dated 1211, 1234, 1255 H.
