Manuscript, in black ink. Text on both sides of leaves. Modern marginalia. Divided into chapters numbered as follows: 1-12; 1-23; 1-18; 1-19, 23-27; 1-38. Chap. 27 (ff. 63-64) stops in "año quinto" (1393) and resumes from the new reign of Henry III up to the year 1407. F. 86v: "De aqui Adelante nosealla que coronista escriua" [from here forward I know not which chronicler writes].
Bound in quarter brown leather and marbled paper boards, spine gilt, green morocco spine label: Ayala Cro[nica] de E[nrique III].
Watermark: Flag with letter G and number 3.
