Collation: Parchment, fol. i (paper) + 175 + i (paper); 1-310 4-58 610 (+1?) 710 8-148 15-1810 198; quire signatures I-III, V on fol. 10v, 20v, 30v and 46v; some catchwords (fol. 10v, 20v, 30v, 46v, 67v, 75v, 91v, 137v, 147v, 157v, 167v).
Layout: 2 columns of 31 lines, prickings visible.
Script: Written in a gothic script possibly by 2 hands (change of hand on fol. 47r and 73r).
Decoration: Initials, occasionally terminating in fish or monstrous heads; line fillers as fish and grotesques; opening initial in blue with red and blue pen-flourishing; 2- to 4-line initials decorated in void and either red or blue decoration; 1-line initials within text touched with red; marginal notes occasionally enclosed in red frames.
Binding: 19th cent. half-leather and marbled paper over pasteboard by Phillipps; 3 raised bands sewn in; contiguous endsheet and pastedown.
