Layout: Much variation; written in 2 columns or long lines, ca. 28-48 lines per column or page.
Script: Gothic cursive, several hands.
Decoration: Diagram on f. 265v, initials and capitals in red ink.
Binding: 15th cent., wooden boards, stamped brown calf, corner pieces, remains of clasps; rebacked.
Origin: Written at Erfurt, Germany in 1437 (Monastery of St. Peter).
Provenance: Benedictine monastery of St. Peter at Erfurt (not "Martin Luther's Monastery", as asserted by Sotheby, nor the Carthusian monastery at Erfurt, as asserted by De Ricci). Obtained before 1878 by A.D. White from Sotheby, bearing the catalogue no. 2144.
