Some leaves have been removed or mutilated. Beginning of first prologue and of Genesis are missing, probably pilfered for burnished gold initials, as suggested by the mutilation on f. 443.
Layout: Written in double columns of 52 lines; frame-ruled in lead. Summaries and indices written in double or triple columns of 50-70 lines.
Script: Gothic textual.
Decoration: Red and blue Lombardic initials with red and blue pen-flourishing; some burnished gold used in the intials (see ff. 383v, 394r, 443v, 475v); red or blue Lombards of 2 lines in height with contrasting pen-flourishing; 1-line red or blue Lombards as initials in the index of Hebrew names; headlines and chapter numbers in alternating red and blue Lombards; rubrics occur infrequently.
Origin: Written in England in the latter half of the 13th century.
