The leaves are numbered (in a later hand) 116-141. Title from half-title leaf f. 116r. Written in England (where the work was composed, f. 117r) or Italy by an Italian scribe in a spare humanistic cursive hand in brown ink in one column. Presentation copy for Cardinal Francesco Piccolomini, later Pope Pius III. Ff. 117r and 118v have illuminated initials. F. 117r has an illuminated border incorporating the arms of the Piccolomini family. Bound in original blind-tooled brown calf over wooden boards, with brass catches and a framed title-label on the front. In a tray case, 26 cm. Deposited by Philip Hofer, 1967; bequeathed, 1984.
