Written in northeastern Italy, probably before 1440, in a humanistic script; text begins imperfectly, and blank spaces were left for intended initials.
In a 20th-cent. red half morocco binding.
In a protective tray case, 26 cm.
Formerly owned by Giusto Venier in 1440 (inscription, f. 105v); likely Phillipps sale (no shelfmark in manuscript), London, Sotheby's, 1896, lot 291; bought by Henry White; his sale, London Sotheby's, 21 Apr.-2 May, 1902, lot 521; bought by Quaritch.
