Written in small caroline minuscule in 25 long lines and marginal annotations; with headings and colored initials in red, and geometric-style initials within a full-page decorative frontispiece to each gospel (ff. 12r, 62r, 92r, 142v); written in Italy.
Begins, Prologus Sancti Hieronimi presbyteri in libris quattuor Evangeliorum.
Bound in 19th-cent. French black morocco with marbled endpapers; by Dupré.
In a tray case, 20 cm.
Belonged to Paul Edouard Didier, comte de Riant.
Gift of J. Randolph Coolidge and Archibald Cary Coolidge, 1899.
