Written in Florence in a humanistic script for a member of the Sforza family of Pesaro, with a portrait initial and frontispiece border attributed to Francesco di Lorenzo Rosselli of Florence or to the Master of the Hamilton Xenophon.
In a 15th-cent. Italian brown morocco binding over wooden boards with blind tooling.
In a tray case, 22 cm.
Coat of arms of the Sforza family (f. 1v); possibly belonged to Giovanni Sforza whose 1500 library inventory lists a copy of this work.
Purchased with the Mary P. C. Nash fund, in memory of her husband Bennett Hubbard Nash, 1939.
