Written in textualis rotunda script in black with musical notation in plain chant in black on red staves; single illuminated decorative initial on burnished ground (f. 1r), initials for secondary text divisions in blue and red with pen-work flourishes, and headings in red. Title supplied by cataloger. Written for the Augustian convent of San Sebastiano at Genova (f. 2r) Musical notation in black on black staves, containing the Office of Christmas, added in the 16th or 17th-cent. on paper at end. Bound in modern tan morocco. In a tray case, 25 cm. Belonged to Paul Edouard Didier, comte de Riant. Gift of J. Randolph Coolidge and Archibald Cary Coolidge, 1899.
