Written in an upright humanistic script probably by the Florentine scribe Hubertus. For identification see notes by Philip Hofer on front flyleaf and further in curatorial file. Ff. 1r and 4r have initials in gold and colors with white-vine decoration. F. 1r has a blank cartouche at the foot. Ff. 1r-4r contain the preface dedicating the work to King Louis XI of France. There are 11 blank leaves, ruled for writing, after f. 38. Bound in contemporary blind-tooled calf, repaired, with remnants of 2 brass clasps. In a cloth chemise within a quarter leather and cloth slipcase, 20 cm. Cardinal Domenico Toschi (ms. note on the front pastedown). Bequest of Philip Hofer, 1984.
