- Written in gothic rotunda book hand in long lines with occasional musical notation; 60 x 42 cm., text 40.2 x 26.5 cm. Probably written and illuminated in northern Italy.
One historiated initial of God the Father of "Beatus vir" (f. 3r, matins on Sunday) and four decorated initials (ff. 45v, matins on Monday; 104, matins on Thursday; 130, matins on Friday; 150v, matins on Saturday), all in color on burnished gold ground; smaller 1- and 3-line colored initials with intricate penwork.
Lacks ff. [i], 67, 85.
Front pastedown is lined with a bifolium written in a round Italian gothic book hand from a 13th-cent. office lectionary with lessons for matins on the feast of St. Vincent.
Back pastedown contains alphabetical index of hymns, on paper, added 17th-18th century, damaged.
Bound in its original red leather over thick wooden boards with metal corner pieces and center boss on the front cover.
