Decoration: Twenty-one historiated initials, 14- to 6-line, in a rather rough style with no modelling, in white-patterned blue or pink against grounds of the other color with gold grounds as backdrops to the historiation; extensions the length of the text or as C-shaped brackets in colors, sprouting sporadic, but long and vigorous stems with scattered trilobe leaves.
Other Decoration: 5- to 3-line initials in white-patterned pink or blue on grounds of the other color, infilled with trilobe leaves or colored disks against a gold ground, with extensions of a single black line parallel to the text and terminating in gold disks, or with extensions as simpler versions of the vinestem ending in a single trilobe leaf; some 5- to 3-line initials without extensions...

Written in Spain, possibly in Toledo or Seville since past bishops are listed only for these 2 cities. Letter dated Rouen 1562 (?), in poor French in the lower margin of f. 116, "A mon seieur Le Legat cardinal de ferralle Le Legat de franse. Je vous me recommende. . . .
