Title from title for predominant work in 15th-century note on flyleaf; Zacour-Hirsch supplies the title Flores ex collatione patrum, sive ex collationum Joannis Cassiani libris XXIV.
Collation: Paper, i (contemporary flyleaf) + 172; 110 2-412 5-614 712 810 912 10-1110 1212 13-1410 1512; [1-172]; modern collation in pencil, upper or lower right recto. Last three gatherings are blank. Link to collation model at end of record.
Layout: 1st work written in 35-40 long lines, with marginal notes in red ink; 2nd work has marginal Biblical citations in red ink; 3rd work written in 34 long lines, with red letters in the main text corresponding to marginal Biblical citations.
Script: Written in a Gothic cursive script.
Decoration: Titles, brackets, and marginal notes in red ink.
Binding: Blind-stamped contemporary calf over wooden boards (Zacour-Hirsch); one metal hook and clasp and one metal clasp with hook now missing; paper label at top of spine has remnants of title, including "in collationes patrum ... Cassiani" and paper label at bottom of spine has shelf number 183, in two generations of numbering.
Origin: Written in Germany in the 15th century (Zacour-Hirsch).
Formerly in the library of the Carthusian monastery in Buxheim (Patrum Cartusianorum B.V. Mariae in Buxheim, f. 1r).
