Script: Written in naskh in black ink; pointed and vocalized; last two pages written in taʻlīq in black ink; pointed. Decoration: Dual-page illuminated first opening in gold with blue, polychrome vines and leaves (f. 1r-2v); sūrah headings in white ink on gold background set into a blue rectangle with polychrome floral fill on either end; finispiece of gold leaves and vines around colophon (f. 299r); readings in red. Origin: Copy completed in 1011 A.H. (1602 or 1603 CE) by ʻAlāʼ al-Dīn al-Tabrīzī (f. 299r). Shelfmark: MS Or 317 - FOLIO. Persian customs stamps solar dated 1312 (1933 CE) (f. 1r, 299v). Formerly owned by David Eugene Smith (library bookplate first flyleaf verso at front of book; signature in pencil second flyleaf recto at front of book).
