Ms. codex. Origin: Item is undated, but based on the paper, probably copied in Persia in the late 14th century. Layout: Written in 15-18 long lines. Script: Written in naskh in black ink; pointed, by multiple hands; beginning and end (f. 1-40, 310-321) of manuscript written on replacement leaves by a later hand in a narrower version of the script. Binding: Plain black leather over pasteboard. Title supplied by cataloger. Foliation: Paper, 321; [1-321], modern foliation in pencil, upper left recto. Contemporary foliation in Hindu-Arabic numerals in ink (50-80) visible on upper right verso. Decoration: Headings and significant words and phrases written or overlined in red ink. Ownership stamps, probably 19th century, in Persian: a rectangle in purple ink with the name Muṣṭafá Shāh ʻAlāʼī and the title Qānūn added by hand (f. 1r), and a ring in red ink with the name Manūchihr Nukhastīn Āṣaf Qājār (f. 1r, 109r, 228r, 278r, 321r).
