These two volumes have 164 pasted-or tipped-in cloth samples; for each a recipe listing all the materials used along with prices and quantities for each is provided.
Laid-in are a number of pieces of paper with calculations.
Origin: An important survival, being a highly legible British dyer's account journal(s), giving recipes and costs for materials used in the process of dyeing many kinds of cloth. Compiled just before the general introduction of aniline dye.
