This miniature once marked the beginning of the first lesson for Matins of the Common of the Evangelists. It is a reading from Ezekiel 1:1, 'Et factu[m] e[st] in trigesimo anno i[n] quarto mense ...' (Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year in the fourth month). The miniature comes from the same manuscript as Lewis E M 9:18-24, 26.
