Adoration of the Magi This miniature once marked the beginning of Sext of the Hours of the Virgin. It has been attributed to the Bourges illuminator Jean Colombe (fl. ca. 1463 - 1498). One of the most prolific illuminators of his time, Colombe enjoyed the patronage of the French royal court, especially Charlotte of Savoy (1443 - 1483), wife of Louis XI. This image shows the reverse of a miniature by Jean Colombe taken from a book of hours. This leaf has been dated to ca. 1470-1480. Script: Bastarda
