Leaf from an unrelated Book of Hours tipped onto the recto of front endleaf, possibly by Lewis; contains the beginning of the prayer "Obsecro te" with rubric "Or[ati]o beate virginis Marie"
Binding: Eighteenth-century French morocco; gilt back and edges; marble paper pastedowns and flyleaves; stamped on spine in gold: "LIVRE D'EGLISES"
Layout: One column of nineteen lines, ruled in lead; prickings visible on some pages; one leaf with one column of fifteen lines, ruled in red; text continues on reverse; written area: 125 x 85 mm
Script: Gothic--textualis
Decoration: Five full-page miniatures with full borders, one half-page miniature; twenty-three historiated initials; red, blue, and gold decorated initials throughout; one inserted leaf with illuminated initial and inhabited border
