The opening formula (Don Phelipe / por la gracia de dios / rey de Castilla / de Leon de Aragon de las) is incorporated into four full-page miniatures: the first depicting a male figure and his two sons kneeling in prayer beneath the crucified Christ, four saints in the frame (fol. 1v); the second depicting his wife with four daughters kneeling in prayer before the Virgin Mary, who is... The first document mentioned was given in 1598, and the final section, written by the notary Salvador Rico (fol. 140v) is dated 1609. A note (fol. 1r) may give prices for the production of the manuscript, including the seda y plomo.
