Collation: Paper, with watermark similar to Briquet 11794 or 11796 (trimount with a cross, 94 mm high) ; fol. 66 ; 18(-2) 210(-10) 312 416 510 68(-8) 72 82 i (pastedown) ; modern arabic foliation in pencil in lower outer margins of each leaf added after digitization. Those numbers used here for reference.
Layout: Single column, as many as 45 lines, bounding lines in red ink enclose writing space of 215 x 138 mm, unruled.
Script: Written in a single gothic cursive (cursiva currens). The printed portion of the volume is profusely annotated in the same hand.
Decoration: Rubricated in red; initials on 45r and 47v in green.
Binding: Bound into a volume after the 1487 Mathias Huss edition of the Legenda aurea (ISTC ij00118000). Contemporary South German blind tooled pigskin over wooden boards. Origin: Copied in Germany ca. 1490 to 1491. Localization based on inscriptions on the title page to the printed portion of the volume, which are written in both German and Latin. Date based on colophons to two of the manuscript texts. The Charlemagne legend has a dated colophon on 12v ("Anno domini M.cccc.lxxxx, in die sancte Elizabeth ...") and Duodecim abusionibus claustri has a dated...
Provenance: Leather bookplate of Eduardo J. Bullrich. Pencil dealer's notes, codes, etc. According to BPL Quarterly (April 1955, p. 88), this volume formerly belonged to the monastery of Ramsau, in Bavaria.
