Script: Parts 1 and 3 written in later cursive; part 2 written in a gothic bookhand in black ink with red rubrics. Decoration: 1- or 2-line red or red/black initials throughout section 2. Binding: Original dark brown blind-stamped calf over wooden boards, IHS medallion in center of upper cover, bronze clasps and catches, edges stained blue, paper pastedowns. Housed in cloth-covered clamshell box. Origin: Written in Germany for Dominican use in the mid-fifteenth century. Provenance: Sixteenth-century and later additions in Latin and German. 19th- and 20th-century German dealers' notes in pencil inside front cover.
